Greenwich Gardens Extra Care Scheme

Conveniently located, with easy access to Derby City Centre, Markeaton Park and local amenities, Greenwich Gardens provides apartments and communal facilities for over 55s. Designed to offer comfort, independence and peace of mind, Greenwich Gardens has everything you need to enjoy a happy, fulfilling retirement.

At Greenwich Gardens, you choose the lifestyle that suits you.

In the morning, a local shop can deliver your daily milk or newspaper, and during the day we’ll call you to check that you’re okay. After breakfast in your apartment or the restaurant, you might choose to meet friends or take part in one of our regular activities in our social lounge. At lunchtime, the restaurant serves delicious hot meals or you may want to prepare lunch for yourself or for friends or family in your apartment.

If you fancy a change of scenery, Markeaton Park is just five minutes’ walk away and there are often events happening there. Or you might want to pop into Mackworth village or Derby for a spot of shopping or lunch.

In the afternoon, you could join us in the lounge for one of our regular social events, take part in an arts and craft workshop, or perhaps visit our cinema or games rooms. By evening, you may want to take it easy after all the activity! If not, you can always join friends to watch TV, or for a chat, a game of cards, or a mutual hobby.

In this role I support the manager and the care team, including team leaders. I maintain professional contact with the customers and support their needs. It is a very busy role, which I really enjoy. I have developed new skills, and continue to learn new ones all the time and am well supported by the team.

word for it!

"I would like to say thank you for escorting my sister to an important appointment, which she was worried about attending on her own."
(Sister of customer)

"Thank you everyone for your help and kindness!"
(Mr and Mrs B - customers)

"I know that some of you went above and beyond to look after Mary and make up for no visitors on her birthday. As I know most of you, but not all, I was not surprised, but I remain truly grateful for everything you do to make her life better. If I ruled the world you'd all get a massive pay rise!
